Seales Winslow on its recovery from Ashburton fire
Three firefighters were injured Monday night in a major blaze at the Seales Winslow farm feed processing plant near Ashburton.
It took up to eight hours to bring the blaze under control.
Chris Brown, chief operating officer at Seales Winslow, joins Rural Exchange to explain how the company is helping affected workers and getting the supply chain back up and running.
“We are not really anticipating any issues for our farmers,” he says. The company has worked quickly to set up an alternative distribution centre for the time being.
While he doesn’t know that exactly caused the fire, he explains that “what we do know is that it started outside the factory.”
Seales Winslow ensured that its employees were redistributed so their jobs wouldn't be comprimised during the plant rebuild.
