The value of an aged work force
Employers are realising the value of their older workers.
A new survey by Diversity Works New Zealand found more than 60% of employers valued their workers aged 55 and over.
Diversity works chief executive New Zealand Bev Cassidy-Mackenzie joins the AM show to discuss the findings.
Older workers have not just work experience but life experience, and they want to pass on that generational knowledge.
She also thinks it's a myth that older generations are 'overwhelmed' by current technology.
“Quite frankly it's a load of bollocks."
Bev pointed out that over half of smartphone users are over 55.
