James Headley, a Historian at Otago University describes the Serbian horrors of World War One, how they happened and how they shape the Serbian outlook right through to today.
World War One was 100 years ago, and Serbia lost 30% of their entire population and 60% of their men during that time.
No other nation even comes close to that level of devastation.
In February 1999, Serbia had negotiations with the French... who offered them an ultimatum. Were they telling them what to do?
James Headley says "Your modern nation is built on past events and past mythologies."
