The government yesterday said it would use its financial veto to put a stop to Labour's bill to extend paid parental leave to six months.
Acting Prime Minister Bill English reckons the changes would cost $150 million a year. The MP behind the bill, Sue Moroney, says the plan to veto before the bill's first reading highlights National's disdain for working parents.
