Ask most people about Karyn Hay and they will remember her as host of the iconic music television programme "Radio With Pictures", but this extraordinary woman has achieved so much and lived a truly full life since those days.
She was the winner of the Hubert Church Best First Book in the 2001 Montana Book Awards, following the publication of her first novel "Emerald Budgies". She was subsequently awarded the Frank Sargeson Fellowship in 2004. Her new novel is due out next year.
Karyn co-hosts the evening show on RadioLIVE with Andrew Fagan, with whom she has two teenage sons.
Fagan is is a true renaissance man. He came to prominence in the 1980s as frontman for The Mockers and continues recording and performing with his current band The People. He has written two books about his offshore solo sailing record-breaking voyages in his 5.4 metre yacht 'Swirly World', in which he sailed to Australia, and also circumnavigated New Zealand, including a trip to the subantarctic Auckland Islands.
This sailor and musician is also a poet, children's book author, and a popular talkback host on RadioLIVE.
