Temperatures continue above normal for almost the entire country. With a dry spell starting to bite and very dry to extremely dry across a quarter of the nation.
Fire risk has risen to extreme in parts of the Waimak and Ashley regional forests in North Canterbury.
Christchurch has recorded less than a millimetre of rain for well over 40 days now.
Water restrictions have either come into effect or will come into effect soon if moisture doesn’t fall in Hamilton, Napier, Wellington and South Canterbury with others starting to surface on the radar.
This coming week might see a few showers or some rain pushing over areas away from the east but overall greater top ups should be required.
