VIDEO: Aussie child groomer caught and arrested at train station
A 56-year-old man has been arrested as he waited at a Sydney train station for a young boy he allegedly planned to have sex with.
He was caught speaking over the internet with who he thought was a 14-year-old boy, but was actually detectives from New South Wales Police's Sex Crimes Squad.
The man was arrested on Thursday at 5pm (local time) after engaging in conversations of a sexual manner and making arrangements to meet for sex, according to police.
The arrest, which took place at Parramatta train station, saw him taken to prison and and charged with online child exploitation offences.
Reports suggest the man's communications with the Sex Crime Squad began in May, when his offending was referred on by a local police station.
The man has since been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court at some point on Friday.
