Newshub Political reporter Jenna Lynch gave Carly the politics wrap for the week. The top stories this week: 25,000 kiwis have applied KiwiBuild so far, politicians having another crack at meatless burger on Air New Zealand, and a new target has been set for 50% of public sector boards to have woman on them.

Changes to KiwiSaver, affect on retirement plans

Change is coming, but what does that mean for you? Retirement Commissioner, Diane Maxwell, was behind all of the KiwiSaver changes that are being tabled in parliament and says that she is very aware that people don’t like change but adding options to make KiwiSaver more accessible to over 65s is necessary.

Newshub's Kaye Albyt has just come back from a holiday in Taiwan. It's not somewhere we always think of when planning a holiday but Kaye couldn't speaker more highly of it.

Dr Kathleen Schubert has some natural therapies for beating winter blues or Seasonal Affective Disorder (depression related to seasonal change with less sunlight). This can affect our energy levels and sleep schedules in the wintertime but using natural UV free sun lamps, taking serotonin boosting supplements and eating serotonin rich foods can help majorly.

Motoring expert Jacqui Madelin tested the Hyundai Ioniq plug-in hybrid, doing about 50km on electric then switching to hybrid. Then she switched to the Prius plug-in electric hybrid.

She gave Carly her reviews for the Hyundai Ioniq and Prius, then Carly gives her review on the VW eGolf driving experience!

Thai cave rescue - update

Rain has started to fall but it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a rescue today as the 12 boys and their coach are not ready to dive. They became stuck almost two weeks ago when the entrance flooded, leaving them stranded inside.
