The Big Blood Pressure Check is coming up on the 6th of October.
Thousands of people get tested for free, in a bid to help prevent strokes, or even save lives. Around 130 sites will be set up around New Zealand to make the test easier for Kiwis to access.
Stroke Foundation’s Don Scandrett joined The AM Show to discuss the importance of getting checked.
According to Mr Scandrett, high blood pressure is the single cause of between 60 to 65 percent of strokes.
Find out where you can get checked here.
