Timaru Horse Power Rally aims to fundraise $500,000

Can you imagine driving a steam engine for five days from Winton to Timaru?

That’s what one passionate vintage machinery enthusiast has done for this weekend's Horse Power Rally.

The event will see 500 vehicles on display, at Phar Lap Raceway at Timaru, aiming to fundraise​ $500,000 for the South Canterbury Traction Engine Club.

One of the event organisers Gordon Handy joined Rural Exchange to tell us more about the unique machines that will be on display.
