Rural supplies and services co-operative Farmlands and software
company FarmIQ has launched a free Health and Safety application.
SafeFarm is designed to help New Zealand’s primary sector improve its poor Health and Safety record.
Farmlands’ 68,000 shareholders will have free access to the technology that allows them to easily record hazards, track incidents and mark the location of emergency equipment.
WorkSafe New Zealand says that agriculture is our nation's most dangerous industry to work in, with 9 deaths already in 2018 as of August.
SafeFarm includes a farm diary, inventory control and the ability to allocate tasks on-farm.
A forthcoming release will focus on safe visitation tools, so farmers know who is on their farm and can ensure they are aware of the hazards and the methods of mitigation.
Tools of the Trade is a regular feature on Rural Exchange thanks to our friends at Husqvarna.
