Celebrating rural women of influence

Rural Exchange 23/09/2018

A Westport dairy farmer has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the dairy industry over the past decade.

Rebecca Keoghan, Westland Milk director and general manager of Pamu Academy, won the rural category in this year's Women of Influence Awards held at Auckland’s SKYCITY last week.

She told RadioLIVE’s Rural Exchange it's been an “amazing week”.

"It's fantastic for the rural sector and it's great for the coast, in particular."

Ms Keoghan also holds a New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business, particularly the dairy industry.

In 2016, she was named Dairy Woman of the Year at the Dairy Women’s Network conference in Hamilton.

Last month, state-owned farming enterprise Pamu Farms, formerly Landcorp, recorded a lift in revenue by seven percent to $247.1 million
