Dairy farming through the eyes of a child

Rural Exchange 20/06/2018

New Zealander Jack Greenan stars in a heart-warming video from DairyNZ which shows dairy farming through the eyes of a four-year-old.

The video features some of the great exports that come from dairy farms including milk and cheese. Jack’s favourite? Ice-cream of course.

“We make the milk that makes ice-cream, so I think mum and dad have the best job in the world.”

Along with parents Olin and Anna, and baby brother Noah, Jack helps to herd the cows and check on the calves, as well getting to play outside with his Dad.

DairyNZ say that the video shows sides of dairy farming the public may not often see. It highlights family life, the contribution that farmers make to our lives and the great aspects of being a dairy farmer.

DairyNZ marketing manager Andrew Fraser says the dairy sector is about so much more than cows and grass and that people are hugely important to life on a farm.

"This video celebrates the awesome work farmers do, their dedication to their work and the inspiration they provide for their children.”
