Night talk: Mitch Harris opening comments, Wednesday 10th October 2018.
Tonight: Why are many political commentators so upset about the government's $5.5 billion surplus?
- Government flush with tax cash, surplus of $5.5 billion
- How should the Government spend its surplus?
- 'Party time' Government surplus an election bribe for Labour - Garner
Just before 8pm tonight, Mitch heard a piece on In Focus with Brin Rudkin. The audio was of Duncan Garner from The AM Show this morning where he ripped into the government for having a $5.5 billion surplus.
It's not just Garner - if you read the papers or visit the main news websites there is so much negative vitriol about the government. Why?
The Prime Minister has done a great job for New Zealand recently at the UN General Assembly and representing our country in America, and now the government's books are in a great state.
What do you make of the negative publicity surrounding the government? Is it deserved?
Night Talk with Mitch Harris, 8pm - 12am Monday to Thursday nights on RadioLIVE, and streaming live to the rova app on Android and iPhone.
