Classic album review: Elvis Presley NBC comeback special from 1968

Night Talk 13/08/2018

Every Monday night after the 10pm news, Mitch Harris is joined by Marty Duda from Kiwi entertainment website The 13th Floor and their online radio station Radio13 to look back at a classic album.

This week: We're 50 years since Elvis made his triumphant TV comeback on American network NBC. He performed over four nights in June 1968 in Burbank, California, and the special aired on TV in December 1968.

The original album, released in 1969, featured the best songs of the four nights of performances. But the album has had many re-releases since it's original release - including a deluxe 4-disc edition of each night's performance in full that was released in 2008.

Tracks played:
- Trouble / Guitar Man
- Lawdy, Miss Clawdy / Baby What You Want Me To Do
- Where Could I Go But To The Lord? / Up Above My Head / Saved (gospel medley)
- Blue Christmas / One Night
- Jailhouse Rock / Don't Be Cruel
- If I Can Dream

Night Talk with Mitch Harris, 8pm - 12am on RadioLIVE and streaming live to the rova app on Android and iPhone.
