The Government’s KiwiBuild programme intends to build 100,000 affordable houses over the next 10 years. The Reserve Bank recently called out Labour’s policy as unrealistic, estimating that the Government’s delivery on its promise will be considerably less.

The Government plans to work with private developers and will forego the developer’s profit margins. Twyford says that he fully expects to meet his housing targets.
