Is the monarchy's role in New Zealand still relevant today? It's the age-old question that continues to come up year after year.
Graeme Hill is joined by Dr Sean Palmer, historian and monarchist on the night of the wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
On the occasion of a royal wedding, Dr Palmer and Graeme debate the role of our constitutional monarchy plus a whole lot of fun facts from English Royal history.
Dr Palmer says it’s very valuable to have a monarchy, “there’s something about this system of government that works very, very well”.
He admits there will be some monarchy’s which aren’t pleasant, but he doesn’t think we have to "grow up any further”.
