Lonely Planet’s Chris Zeiher has just come back from an incredible trip to Madrid, and he thinks it’s a really good alternative to Barcelona which is often the first (and sometimes only) port of call for tourists in Spain. In Madrid you can still easily mingle with the locals & things cost less than in Barcelona. It’s a win-win!
