Rural women still struggling on Mother's Day

Rural Exchange 13/05/2018

To celebrate Mother's Day, Rural Exchange is proud to recognise all of our wonderful rural women.

From the land girls of the farms when the men were at war, through to the juggling of work and life balance for the next generation of women on the land.

But the typical environment rural woman now exist in can sometimes be extremely vulnerable.

Women and children living in rural New Zealand can be victims of physical and psychological abuse due to the isolated lifestyle.

Fiona Gower, president of Rural Women joined Rural Exchange to discuss the changing role of women on the farm.
