Anyone who works alone in areas that are without cell phone coverage is being urged to carry locator beacons with them now by WorkSafe.
There is a growing group that love to get out and enjoy the great outdoors on mountain bikes etc, riding trails through the forest and over mountain trails in our beautiful country.
Most of it is where there is no cell phone reception, so the prospect of having an accident without help is concerning.
The Southland Locator Beacon Trust, hires out locator beacons through 40 outlets across the country for immediate response for Search & Rescue.
