MermaidMary's cocktail of the week: The Bobby Burns

Long Lunch 02/02/2018

This cocktail is in honour of the famous Scottish romantic poet Robert Burns, whose life is celebrated every year on January 25th and was created by David Wallace, NZ Ambassador for Chivas Regal (who is himself a Scot!)

The Bobby Burns

  • 45 ml Chivas Regal 12
  • 20 ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 7.5ml Grand Marnier
  • Dash of Angostura Bitters

Topped with orange oil (squeeze orange peel to release aromatic oils over the rim of the glass). The cocktail is built in a mixing glass and stirred with ice.

It can be served either in an old fashioned glass with ice or in a Martini style glass. It ooks like Old Fashioned/Negroni when in the old fashioned glass or Rob Roy when done in a Martini glass.
