Our cycling team has won New Zealand's first medals at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games - taking home a Gold and 2 Silver medals at the Anna Meares Velodrome in Brisbane.

The women's 4000m team pursuit won our first medal of the games - a Silver, which was shortly followed by another Silver medal to the women's team sprint.

Then in the last race of the evening, the men's team sprint won Gold - Eddie Dawkins, Bradly Knipe, Ethan Mitchell and Sam Webster beat the English team by 0.6 seconds.

Following our Gold medal win, Mitch Harris talked with Newshub reporter Ollie Ritchie, who watched on at the Anna Meares Velodrome.

Night Talk with Mitch Harris, 8pm - 12am Monday-Thursday nights on RadioLIVE, and streaming live to the rova app on Android and iPhone.
