Rock legend Neil Finn will join the ranks of Fleetwood Mac, after songwriter and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was fired from the band.
Mick Fleetwood told Stuff that they jammed out with the Crowded House frontman, and the duo seemed to work.
Celebrated writer Anthony Bozza told Wendyl Nissen that if you look at the history of the band, the move comes as “no surprise”.
“You cannot deny that [Finn] is a prolific and incredible songwriter – a treasure to your country.”
Mr Bozza, who’s written for both Rolling Stone and Playboy, also applauded the band’s recruitment of Mike Campbell, long-time lead guitarist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
“He’s probably one of the greatest guitar players alive, in my opinion.”
And with Finn on vocals, Mr Bozza says it’s going to be a good sound for the iconic band.
“I can’t think of two better people to replace Buckingham,” he told RadioLIVE.
