Brought to you by | Weekdays 6am - 9am Arguably, Marcus Lush has created a new style of broadcasting. It is a way of talking about the country by observing the small, unique details of our history, geography and culture. These observations are infused with humour and respect.
It is Marcus' documentary programmes that have captured the imagination of New Zealanders. His “Intrepid Journey” to Russia was a stand out in the series. This was followed by “Off The Rails,” following the main trunk line around New Zealand. The series was the top rated show on New Zealand television in 2004. Next came “Ice” in 2007, a documentary series on the Antartic and “South” followed in 2009.
Weekdays 9am - 12pm Love him or hate him, you cannot ignore Michael Laws. The Mayor of Wanganui has a reputation for getting things done and he is not afraid of upsetting people in pursuit of his goals.
As well as his mayoral duties, Laws is a prolific writer and publisher, television host and a father to five children.
His past achievements include receiving the Charles Southwell prize in 2003 for insightful contribution to public debate. Weekdays 12pm - 3pm Willie Jackson, former trade union organiser, bouncer, record company executive and Alliance MP, is a firm fixture on the NZ broadcasting scene.
He is chairman of the Maori Radio network Te Whakaruruhau, Chairman of the National Urban Maori Authority and Chief Executive of the Manukau Urban Maori Authority.
John Tamihere served as a Labour Cabinet Minister from 2002 to 2004. He was born in Auckland to a father of Ngati Porou, Whakatohea and Tainui descent and an Irish mother.
JT is currently Chief executive of the Waipareira Trust. Weekdays 3pm - 6pm RadioLIVE Drive features a mix of lifestyle, current affairs and news as it happens.
RadioLIVE Drive features The World at Five, focusing on the most important stories of the day. Weekdays 7pm - 10pm Karyn Hay, presenter of “Radio With Pictures”, won the Hubert Church Best First Book in the 2001 Montana Book Awards for her first novel “Emerald Budgies”.
As well as managing the Kiwi FM radio network, Karyn Hay is also an experienced television producer and director.
Former Mockers frontman, Andrew Fagan is also a poet, children’s book author, music programmer for Kiwi FM and has circumnavigated New Zealand in the smallest boat ever to do it. Monday 12am - 5.00am Tuesday & Wednesday 1am - 5.00am Author and Broadcaster Ewing Stevens, joined Radio Pacific as a talkback host at the foundation of the station in 1979.
Awarded the M.B.E. for his work with youth in Dunedin in 1972, he served as Manukau City Councillor from 1986 to 1998.
Ewing is married to Annette and lives in Onetangi on Waiheke Island. They have four grown up children, two granddaughters Jana and Sienna and a Grandson, Billy. Dudley StaceThursday - Saturday 1am - 5.00am Former roadie, Dudley Stace, is interested in two things: travel and motorbikes. Since these two hobbies go hand in hand, he has successfully combined them on a number of occasions, most notably on a motorbike trip across Mongolia. Richard LoeMonday - Saturday 5.30am - 6am Richard Loe’s exploits on the rugby field are well known. He was an old school rugby player whose strength and fitness were not honed in the gym, but on the farm. He now operates a mixed sheep, cattle and dairy grazing farm in Canterbury. On the Field features a mixture of Richard’s expertise across both fields. James ColemanBack-up Announcer Listing himself as married with two children, this garage-sale, music and chocolate enthusiast is counted on to provide cover for the RadioLIVE weekday line up, when they can't make it in.
A former board member of NZ On Air, James has a bachelor's degree in Psychology and "can do" Performing Arts.
