Wine of the future: Lower alcohol and fewer calories
If you've been following Rural Exchange you'll know we are covering the sixteen primary growth partnership programmes.
This week Sarah Perriam and Richard Loe are talking wine, particularly wine that's lower in calories and alcohol, and capitalising on what is being called one of the largest new international market demands for win.
Dr David Jordan, viticulturist for Vine to Wine Market Ltd joined Rural Exchange to discuss the programme.
He says it's the largest research and development effort ever undertaken by New Zealand’s wine industry.
Lighter Wines is designed to position New Zealand as number one in the world for high quality, lower alcohol, and lower calorie ‘lighter’ wines.
It aims to capitalise on the domestic and international market demand for these wines.
