Red meat export hits record high

Rural Exchange 28/01/2018

Red meat export receipts reached a record high for the December quarter of the 2017-18 season, according to an analysis by Beef + Lamb New Zealand's Economic Service.

The record was driven by high export volumes, record values for lamb and mutton and near record values for beef.

This was despite a high New Zealand dollar.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand's chief economist Andrew Burtt joined Rural Exchange.
