Dairy prices look promising after latest GDT results
Dairy commodity prices did well during the first Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction as buyers take note of milk production in New Zealand.
Amy Castelton, an AgriHQ analyst from NZX Agri joins Rural Exchange to discuss how the latest GDT auction results will affect future dairy prices.
“We’ve had a couple of solid results now so it’s good to see dairy prices going up.”
Good news for milk prices.
Fonterra’s production was down 5.5 percent December, with production for the whole industry down over the summer.
But Ms Castelton warns dairy farmers that the prices might not last, based on production levels overseas.
