How do you serve ice cream to festive guests? In a hand-made ice bowl? Ridiculously simple Christmas Day strawberry wow-factor.
- 2 bowls of different sizes (one needs to fit easily into the other)
- Teatowel and string
Half-fill the larger bowl with water.
Steady the smaller bowl roughly in the centre of the water, and top up with water to hold it steady (not too much or you’ll sink the bowl).
Carefully cover the two bowls with a tea towel and secure with string.
Place the bowls in the freezer overnight.
About 20 minutes before you want to use the bowl, remove from freezer and allow to thaw slightly.
Take the middle bowl out (don’t force it), and gently turn your ice bowl upside down into your hand (not on a hard surface or it will break).
Secure to a plate with salt, and fill with your favourite chilled food.
