Fitbits for sheep? Keep a closer eye on your stock

Rural Exchange 10/12/2017

Founded by two ski instructors, Smartwool has been an international leader in the active wear market for the past 15 years, and is now one of our biggest buyers of New Zealand wool.

Travis Campbell, Smartwool president, joins Rural Exchange to talk wool and sustainability.

“Our story is uniquely New Zealand, uniquely merino and I think uniquely wrapped around sustainability.”

95% of our supply comes from New Zealand.

Mr Campbell says there are some exciting changes to their US-based executive team focused on telling the story of the sustainable, ethically produced product to their consumers.

There are a number of brands that have merino active wear – so how does smart wool differentiate itself?

“We try to do it with great design and with a focus on end use.”
