Facebook launching AI to spot suicidal users
Facebook is ramping up its efforts to be a leader in the online world when it comes to addressing tough issues like suicide.
The AM Show’s Aziz Al-Sa’afin says a new update could prove successful in what is an extremely important and sensitive issue.
"This is totally long overdue."
Mr Al-Sa’afin says Facebook will use artificial intelligence, or AI, to analyse users’ profiles and will pick up on posts and content people are sharing online.
The AI will then direct a user to services and helpful advice if it recognises that person is depressed.
After a successful trial in the United States, Facebook is now preparing to launch the technology worldwide.
