New hazardous substances regulations
Around 1 in 3 New Zealand workplaces use or handle hazardous substances, particularly farmers.
Worksafe, New Zealand's workplace health and safety regulator, aims to reduce harm to people and longer-term illnessed caused by hazardous substances in the workplace.
Worksafe's Marcus Nalter joins Hamish on Rural Exchange to explain the new hazardous substances regulations coming into force on December 1.
"It's about protecting the environment," Mr Nalter says. "It's about protecting you as a farmer."
