Mental Health Awareness Week kicks off today. Nearly 50% of New Zealanders will suffer from a mental health issue in their lifetime.

Mental Health Foundation CEO Shaun Robinson talks about the importance of spending time in nature, which is the theme this year.

Robinson admits the system is under a lot of stress but there are a lot of thing that can be done to get in front of crisis, which is what mental health week is all about.

It is a thing, just like your physical fitness is a thing. If you do a little bit every day you can improve your mental resilience.

NZ Young Farmers is focusing on mental health among rural youth with a new series of workshops around New Zealand, which are aimed at supporting vulnerable members.
