Labour's water tax may be off the table
Labour's controversial water tax may be off the table.
Prime Minister-elect Jacinda Ardern joined the AM show this morning where she hinted towards a back pedal on her proposed tax.
"We are going to release the details early next week. People will understand that Mr Peters campaigned very firmly on that issue. I campaigned on water quality - I'm still sticking to the goal of improving our waterways... but I can tell you Mr Peters was very firm on that."
The full extent of policy concessions to NZ First are yet to be revealed, but Jacinda Ardern has said that Labour’s first 100 day policy plan has emerged from the negotiations "largely unaffected".
The AM Show with Duncan Garner, Amanda Gillies and Mark Richardson, weekdays 6-9am on RadioLIVE and streaming live to the ROVA app on Android and iPhone.
