James Shaw: 'We are absolutely delighted to be in this position'
NZ First leader Winston Peters has announced he will form the next Government with Labour. While the Greens appear not to be part of the coalition Government, it will hold a confidence and supply agreement.
Green Party Leader James Shaw joined The AM Show.
“Given the circumstances of the election campaign we are absolutely delighted to be in this position."
“In the 27 years the Green Party has been around this is our first opportunity to hold ministerial posts and be a part of a government so we’re really pleased."
Mr Shaw said he hopes to spend his term working with Labour to make New Zealand a world leader in fighting climate change, restoring our native enviroments and ending child poverty.
The AM Show with Duncan Garner, Amanda Gillies and Mark Richardson, weekdays 6-9am on RadioLIVE and streaming live to the ROVA app on Android and iPhone.
