'Totally affordable' spending and international students
It was a good photo opportunity at the time but has it come back to haunt Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern?
She supported the cause of a group of Indian students who were being kicked out of the country. Now she's in charge they're hoping she'll let them back in.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told The AM Show her view hasn’t changed.
“If they are victims then we should make sure that their reputations are not besmirched by the actions of others.”
“Most of them as I understand had completed their courses so now it’s the case of whether or not it’s had an impact on their ability to get work in India.”
The Prime Minister also defended her Government's policies as "totally affordable", after former Finance Minister Steven Joyce demanded they "front up quickly with the cost of this coalition".
The AM Show with Duncan Garner, Amanda Gillies and Mark Richardson, weekdays 6-9am on RadioLIVE and streaming live to the ROVA app on Android and iPhone.
