'It’s got some time to go yet' - Bill English

Today New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters is set to meet with his board to decide who the party will go with to form the next Government.

Caretaker Prime Minister Bill English believes there is still a way to go.

“There’s still a number of issues related to the formation of government that haven’t been discussed to the point of agreement.”

“In the shorter term the focus is on the formation of a government,” says Mr English.

“It’s got some time to go yet.”

There is still more discussion to be had about the nature of a coalition or other form of confidence and supply agreement. Those discussions are yet to be had.
