Car Talk: Buying new rather than used
Mark Sainsbury talks with Wellington's king of cars Myles Gazley for his weekly chat about all things automobile.
The late Steve McQueen’s XKSS came from an initial production run of 25 cars - with nine destroyed in a fire. With only 16 in existence, Mr McQueen’s surviving car spiked in value and now resides in the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
“Limited number of cars…” Mr Gazley says. “That’s what the market is after.”
Anything like that is worth gold in time.
The duo also chat about Sainso’s new car and the merits of buying new rather than used. Racing legend Paul Fahey joins Car Talk to discuss his career and new book The Story of a Lucky Bugger.
