Australia’s same-sex marriage vote was no surprise, says political reporter
More than 12.7 million Australians voted in non-binding postal survey on same-sex marriage - and the results are in. Australia voted yes for same-sex marriage, with support from 61 percent of voters.
Political Reporter Steve Jedjetts joins Lisa Owen on The Long Lunch to discuss Australia’s recent decision and what this means for the future.

Mr Jedjetts explains that it’s now very likely that same-sex marriage will be legalised in Australia before the end of the year.
“Most pollsters predicted that 6 out of 10 Australians would vote yes on same sex marriage,” he says.
