Kiwi Doco celebrates NZ female shearers

Rural Exchange 03/03/2018

SHEAR is a new Kiwi doco that follows a group of women competing at The Golden Shears in Masterton.

Set for release in August this year, the film is produced by Miss Conception films, whose focus is on female-led character driven projects.

All of the women featured in the doco will be competing in this year’s Golden Shears competition (1st - 3rd March).

Jills Angus Burney is a shearing coach and trainee shearing judge.

She’s bonkers about shearing: She has sheep sh*t on the brain (which means she’s obsessed with shearing). She’s an ex-world record holder having shorn 500 sheep in a day.

A man collapsed at Friday night's Golden Shears and is in critical condition. Jills speaks to Rural Exchange about the incident. See the full story on newshub.co.nz.
