Shane McManaway is the CEO of Allflex Asia Pacific region and also the founder and chair of the Platinum Primary Producers Group - undoubtedly Australasia’s largest farming family.
Mr McManaway started this group back in 2005 as he saw a need to build an agricultural bridge across the Tasman. The need was getting high-performing, large and influential farmers together to discuss issues facing the primary sector.
“Changing landscapes - it's in our hands” is this year’s theme for the group, which sees an annual theme that helps steer the group’s conversation.
“The landscape in agriculture is changing really, really quickly,” he told Rural Exchange.
He said that the group wants to showcase the amazing work that farmers are achieving across both countries, despite the sometimes negative attention on farms from the media.
Mr McManaway is widely known as one of Australasia’s leaders in agriculture. He and his wife Lynnette own a beautiful farm in the Wairarapa running Stud Charolais Cattle and Red Deer.
