Crab Cake Mantou Buns
Mantou Buns are among the new and increasingly popular Bao family. You can fill with almost anything you fancy – here we have lovely Asian flavoured crab cakes with crunchy veges, served with a little dot of yum yum Japanese mayo.
Serves: 6 Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 20 Minutes
6 mantou buns (we love Asian Kitchen black bean)
3 crab cakes (we love United Fisheries)
1/2 cucumber, cut into matchsticks
1 small carrot, peeled and shredded
Pickled ginger (optional)
Sauces: hoisin, Japanese mayonnaise
- Cook the crab cakes as per packet instructions(in an oven, microwave or pan-fry). Cook the mantou buns also to packet instructions, in a steamer or microwave oven.
- To assemble, make a slit to each mantou. Spread inside of the mantou bun with generous amount of hoisin sauce. Place half a crab cake, along with cucumber, carrot and pickled ginger attractively. Dot with mayonnaise and serve.
