Willow Water Recipe
Willow bark contains Salicin this is what you must extract from the willow bark.
1/2 cup of willow, (branch area to be cut into 1" lengths and only pencil thin or slightly thinner part of branch) , so you are looking for new growth of the willow where the salicin is the strongest , strip all leaves off the branch before cutting
1 litre of boiling water, steep branch pieces overnight, then drain and put in airtight container, will last for 2 months in fridge, new batches is always the best way however.
Sit cuttings in willow water overnight, not leaf area and then plant into propagating sand as per normal, or whatever medium you want to use, or alternatively put Willow Water into watering can and water cuttings 2 times with it.. letting the cuttings soak up the willow water though is a better.
What you are doing is extracting the Salicin from the bark, this is a powerful rooting compound and explains why willows root so easily.
Use any willow...weeping, tortured or pussy, it does not matter as long as it is willow.
