The only way to make Japan sit up and listen is for the world to stop buying Japanese cars, toys, gadgets, electronics ! let them stew in there (whale) fat

Japan is very densely populated and whale meat is considered a delicacy. Why don't they just eat each other? Solves two problems.

One more thing, once they do their research, they sell the meat as a research byproduct. I don't know about you but I'm straight on the research byproducts. I'll stick to my land animals like chicken and beef. Just shows what an arch hypocrite you are.

Bwiize: Your comments are just plain stupid. The facts are this: Firstly, the Japanese are hunting in INTERNATIONAL waters. What the are doing is entirely LEGAL (notwithstanding the fact that they may be exploiting a loophole - and if you read more about the background to this you will understand why they have been forced into this position). The waters they are operating in are NOT 'our' waters. The waters in which they operate are just as much 'theirs' as 'ours'. The idea of this so called 'whale sanctuary' applies only to commercial whaling, not whaling for research purposes. Secondly, the whales they are hunting are of 'least concern' in terms of their numbers. The hunt the Japanese are engaging in is entirely SUSTAINABLE. Thirdly, for whether the meat is of good quality or not, how long they have done this in the past, is it or is it not really part of their tradition, does their government subsidize it or not, are all just RED HERRINGS. These have absolutely nothing to do with the legality or morality of modern Japanese whaling.
