On the surface with the info we're allowed to get once it's been edited and screened, leaves one wondering whether the worst is yet to come with Heatley. Long live conspiracy theorists! On the other hand maybe this guy has integrity and is modelling what the rest of the cabinet including Bill English should do? Whoa!

piko, as soon as I saw you put underpaid in I stopped reading your post. They are underpaid. Cabinet ministers only get $240,000 ish. That is along way off being overpaid. Find me a private company with a budget as big as that of the NZ govt. The guys who run a company of that size wouldn't get out of bed for that pay. Alot of politicians take a pay cut by becoming mp's. Look at John Key, estimates of his income in NY were at least 5 mill per annum. One of the National candidates in Dunedin left his position as the CEO of the private hospital to become an MP at the last election. He took a significant pay cut.

We all know this is about more than two bottles of wine. He's a repeat offender. Send him down the road. Let him be an example to the likes of his co-offending colleagues, particularly to Bill English, Gerry Brownlee and the 'convenient' colleague, Rodney Hide.

dirty, lying, rotten politicians! im sick to death of you overpaid bastards! you get ridiculous salaries and still you bleed the taxpayer for every last cent! every single one of you is a disgrace! I work damn hard for my money for you to take taxes at every single step, to lavish yourselves with, travel benefits, mortgage benefits, taxis, eating out, buffet breakfasts(every day!), etc etc etc. While the rest of us starve you get fatter and fatter! How do you sleep with yourselves? you may believe in god, but i believe in karma, and yours is coming! you wonder why the young today have no respect, well look at yourselves, you have created this society with your greed! while people struggle to feed their kids decent food, you guys are dining out on our hard earned $$, and then to add insult to injury you then up gst, so now we have to eat junk food, because we can no longer afford healthy food! but hey as long as you guys are well feed up there in the beehive, another bottle of expensive wine or 2 ai! dont worry about us we will just keep slaving away and paying our taxes so you guys live like kings! What about us john key! what about us bill english! what about us!!!!!!! It seems that if you want to get ahead in this country, lying cheating and dishonesty is the lesson for today kids! Just look at our rich, they can basically get away with murder, then they all stick together and sweep it under the carpet! how many of the people involved in those dodgy finance companies are in the same social circles as our politicians? you know the ones, the guys who ripped off all those hard working, taxpaying kiwis of their life savings! but hey no skin of johns nose, they still paid their taxes!
