A yoga instructor has been fired after a student she was teaching at the Facebook headquarters complained about the instructor's reaction to her using a cell-phone in class.
35 year-old Alex Van Ness has been teaching yoga since 2006, reports America's ABC News.
Like most instructors, she politely begins each class with a request to switch all phones off. It was during a lesson at the Facebook Fitness Center last month that Van Ness says one student, who she says was texting at the start of class, answering her phone.
"When she picked up her phone, I was surprised," Van Ness told ABC News. "I didn't know what to say. I just looked at her with this look of utter disbelief. Like, 'Really? You're going to do that right now?'"
The look appears to have cost her her job with the company that operates the gym on behalf of Facebook. It took two weeks, but Van Ness was dismissed by Plus One Health Management.
