U2 say no to Christchurch concert

Bono

Chelsea Daly the organiser of bring U2 and Jay Z to Christchurch is disappointed that the organisers of the U2 concert in Auckland have not been able to find a way to get U2 to Christchurch.

Daly received an email from the Chief Executive at Vbase saying that unfortunately that a concert in Christchurch is not going to happen for Christchurch because of the 360 set being so big.

Daly had high hopes of a concert happening after she received a letter from the Mayors office saying they were going to contact Vbase and try to encourage U2 to come.

"I then asked them if there was any chance that U2 would play without the stage in Christchurch (because this is what a lot of people on the Facebook page have been saying, that they wouldn't mind not having the stage as long as the band was here), but he said that a scaled down stage and production is not an option for U2.

Daly says she is disappointed and is unsure if she will be able to afford to go to the Auckland show.
