What justified subsidising raising a pest, homo sapien,or commonly known as human beings, the whole world does not lack this species to work or consume, with ever increasing technology the demand for human labour becomes less and less.Of course some of this pest are much less destructive, and some of this pest are much more destructive. Household debt: http://www.rbnz.govt.nz/keygraphs/Fig5.html Trade balance: http://www.stats.govt.nz/browse_for_stats/industry_sectors/imports_and_exports/OverseasMerchandiseTrade_HOTPMar11.aspx Current accounts for NZ and other countries from 1970.http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/balance-of-payments/2/3. Even before the asset sale, during Labour admin, current account defict was also repeated historically high,-11.8% in 1974,-10.1% in 1975,-8.9% in 1984 (measured in GDP).About -8%GDP from 2005 to 2008.http://www.rbnz.govt.nz/keygraphs/Fig6.html. Even AU,look at them in current account. Inflation. http://www.rbnz.govt.nz/keygraphs/Fig1b.html As far as I know in the 70's before 80's liberalised international trade NZ had something similar to trade protection,(and NZ had even much more generous welfare than now and possibly higher tax,the increase wage from union could be much faster than now I bet) and NZ had a longer and higher inflation climax than even (the inflation climax peaked at about 1981 then eased). There is a very strong correlation between the presence of Labour admin and the high inflation. Capital Gain Tax. As far as I know,Labour's capital gain is not even inflation adjusted and target investment real estates, business and even long term share investments (see not only investment properties!).
