Steve Jobs dies - Twitter reacts

By Duncan Wilson

Apple has confirmed that the company co-founder Steve Jobs has died, aged 56.

He resigned from his position as CEO at the end of August as he battled pancreatic cancer.

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.

Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an aspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

Immediately after the announcement, Twitter was alive with tributes to the technology tycoon.
