Should Stephen Wilce's lies have been discovered sooner?

A 60 Minutes investigation into the senior Defence Force official has revealed his position was given to him on the basis of a string of lies which feature on his CV. His position grants him the highest levels of security clearance.

Wilce claims to have been a member of the British Olympic bobsleigh team in the 1980s. No one from the team or the British Bobsleigh Association has ever heard of him. He also claims to be a Royal Marine, despite no record of this existing.

Do you think Stephen Wilce is alone in his deceit for a job? Should the Defence Force have carried out better checks when appointed?

heheh,, i think the whole things rather funny. It just goes to show how stupid politicians are, and how even more stupid most of the public are for voting them in. Wilce's made such outrageous claims on his CV, a numbskull would have suspected something. Bob sleigh, hahah,, WTF, just look at the guy.

Give The Land Back To Iwi is totaly correct...two young stupid brown fullas steal a packet of pineapple lumps @ say $5 max and get a two year lag for the grand sum of $5max(so they are most defenatley doing there time for there crime)....This Stephen Wilce chap with FULL lucid KNOWLEDGE lied and presented under his full knowledge FALSE information for RENUMERATION...So in my eyes he STOLE money( must be over $100,000 by now!) from us taxpayers through deciet and fraud and most certinaly needs to be brought before the courts if there is to be any Balance of Justice left in this country.

What Stephen Wilce did was to commit an act of theft (the same as the pineapple bandit boys) and frankly im getting sick of these white collar people being beyond the law...FACT is that nobody should be beyond the law.

Not those two boys and most certinaly not Stephen Wilce!

By Fraud

Stephen Wilces should be arrested for fraud. he was privy to top secret information and from this information about his exaggerated past, can not be trusted. To say that we are not sure if he 'sold' secrets, I say go on the premise he did as he has not exactly been truthful up until this point. Arrest him, charge him with fraud, and send the man to jail. The man lied. Then go to the ones who employed him and NEVER checked references and FIRE THEM. Goodness me, not checking references for a top security job, someone needs to lose their job over this for certain. No sweeping under carpets please.
