Should the 'Turangi teen' be sentenced as an adult?

Should the teenage campground rapist receive an adult sentence?

The unnamed 16-year-old has admitted breaking into a caravan in Turangi before Christmas and raping a teenager. A unanimous decision was made for the boy to be sentenced as an adult. The judge didn't feel that any sentence in the Youth Court would go far enough as punishment.

Peter Williams QC told James Coleman that he didn't believe it was right for him to be sent to an adult prison.

Are you fine with this guy being sent to an adult prison?

This guy disgusts me - isn't it bad enough he raped a 5 year old, but then bashed her so she couldn't identify him - thats a premeditated reaction!! The guy should never see the light of day ever again. If he's doing that at 16 - imagine how much worse will he be doing when he gets older?? Im glad he got 10 years - maybe he won't make it out to hurt anyone again!
